Brady List Academy

The Brady List is proud to announce a series of targeted online training courses designed for law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and judges. These programs aim to reinforce the legal, ethical, and procedural obligations arising from Brady v. Maryland (1963), Giglio v. United States (1972), and subsequent jurisprudence that governs disclosure, due process, and the integrity of the criminal justice system.

Each training module is tailored to the participant's role within the justice system, with a unified emphasis on transparency, individual responsibility, and collective accountability. The goal is to ensure that all actors—jointly and severally—understand their constitutional duties, the ramifications of non-compliance, and the mechanisms for internal correction and public redress.

Topics across the curriculum include:

• Historical and legal foundation of Brady and Giglio obligations
• Case studies of disclosure failures and resulting reversals or sanctions
• Duty to preserve, investigate, and disclose exculpatory and impeachment material
• Interagency coordination, recordkeeping, and supervisory responsibility
• Procedures for internal reporting, oversight, and public disclosure
• Impact of nondisclosure on convictions, reputations, and institutional legitimacy
• Remedies, including post-conviction relief and civil liability under 42 U.S.C. §1983

This training affirms that every actor in the justice system must understand their independent and collective roles in safeguarding due process. Failure to uphold these obligations erodes public trust, leads to wrongful convictions, and opens the door to personal and institutional liability. Completion of the course includes a certificate of compliance and eligibility for inclusion in The Brady List’s verified training registry.
